So my challenge tonight was to find a similar dinner at a restaurant that I would have eaten at home per my scheduled meal plan.
This is what I found at Cocoa’s.
Grilled chicken with brushetta, cooked spinach and steamed broccoli. I gave my husband the evil eye when he kept the bread they put on the table and almost ordered dessert!
We ate dinner around 5:30pm. Now it is 9:30pm and I am hungry. Can’t wait to go to bed and forget about it! Although my big challenge comes in the morning, when I can’t eat until after my physical appointment at 9:30am.
At around 11:00am, I got very hungry, was really wishing it was lunchtime. The thing is, it could have been. I’m so used to picking up my daughter from school and going out to lunch, it never occurred to me that I could eat my own lunch before I picked her up. When I did pick her up, she immediately asked for her favorite fast-food restaurant. I told her that we were going home to eat, and if she did not want to eat at home, she was going to have to wait for me to eat my lunch. She chose to wait.
My lunch was this delicious salad with tuna mixed with celery, scallions and ranch dressing.
My favorite meal of the day came as my afternoon snack, Chocolate Shakeology with Almond Butter. Yum Yum!
My big challenge for today is going to be to replicate what I’m scheduled to eat for dinner tonight at a restaurant for date night.

I know from having a snack-aholic child, that forcing health and fitness on your child is difficult, but when has it gone too far that child services should step in?
Today I started a 5 day kick start to my goal to lose weight BEFORE the end of the year. My goal this week: lose 5 pounds. My plan: follow the 5 Day Inferno meal plan from TurboFire, which includes a serving of Shakeology each day, and to workout at least 30 minutes for 4 of the 5 days. My support: my family and my accountability partner for the week, Lynne Saine.
I started pacing the kitchen so I thought I better busy my hands and write about my experience so far.
My husband and I woke up this morning at 3:45am to do our workout. We did P90X: Back and Biceps and I followed it with Power 90: Ab Ripper 100.
Then I made my breakfast, which includes 1 scrabbled egg, 2 slices of turkey bacon, 2 slices of wheat toast and 1/2 tomato, I ate at about 5:30am.
It was light, and I didn’t know if it was enough to fill me up, but after it settled in, I felt great. I took the girls to school and came home. My usual would have been to have a snack, but instead I got on the phone with AT&T to get our service fixed. While on the phone I found myself in the kitchen. I would have normally found something to nibble on while I was on hold, but instead I walked away. Finally, at about 9:00am, I decided it was time for my scheduled snack, 1/2 banana and some walnut halves.
When AT&T had come and gone, I again found myself pacing the kitchen, as I mentioned at the beginning of this post, wondering what I could eat. Instead I made myself a cup of hot tea and started typing.
So far, so good, no unscheduled snacks. Thanks for allowing me to keep myself busy and document my journey through this week of jump starting my weight loss and not letting the holidays take over!
A few weeks ago I instituted “Walk To School Wednesdays” for my family. Its about a 15 minute walk for us from our house to the school. I enjoy sharing fitness with my girls. Its also a great way to help ease up the traffic congestion around the school in the mornings.
I’m looking forward to when I can add another day, although I can’t decide on which day to add, since only Wednesdays start with W, any ideas on how I can give it a clever name on another day?
